Economic Keys to Success
Economic development is expanding its reach to a new global frontier. The Sorority must be poised to compete in these world markets. Simultaneously, living standards within the Black community must be improved. To achieve these goals, Alpha Kappa Alpha will, through education, synergy and partnerships, develop and disseminate the economic keys to success.
Goal: Alpha Kappa Alpha will, through education, synergy and partnerships, develop and disseminate the economic keys to success via an economic literacy campaign.
- Power point presentation developed by the International Program committee listing the Economic Keys to success will be available on the International Program committee web site. 15 minutes during each chapter meeting will be devoted to the Economic Keys to Success
- Earn Save Prosper Kids clubs targeted at middle schools to increase economic literacy of Black youth in 6th-9th grade.
- Earnings Set Potential-On top of the Game projects to provide 9th-12th graders with the opportunity to learn the basics of entrepreneurship.
- Youth Business Plan competitions on the chapter, cluster, regional and national levels.
- Economic Smart Fairs-supply the community with options for financial education, entrepreneurship and wealth building and establish framework for providing opportunities for self-sufficiency and enhancement of assets. Chapters are encouraged to collaborate on a jointly sponsor the Economic Smart Fairs and to create partnerships with other institutions for creating market based approaches in community development.
- Provide the plan and sign up forms for children's savings clubs
(Includes Members' kids and community), provide method for marketing this opportunity, partner with local banks etc.
